Devils’ Prospects Getting Ready for World Junior Camps

Should everything go right and the 2021 World Junior Championship is played this December and January, the Devils could very well be well represented.

According to Amanda Stein on the Devils’ official website, USA Hockey has announced that forward Patrick Moynihan and defenseman Case McCarthy have been named to the program’s 43-man roster for the World Juniors.

Moynihan is currently at Providence College while McCarthy plays at Boston University.

Stein went on to say that USA Hockey will be having their summer “camp from July 24 to Aug. 1 at the USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan.” She mentioned that usually, USA Hockey would be “joined by Hockey Canada, Sweden, and Finland, however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Summer Showcase will only involve USA Hockey” this year.

In other World Junior preparations, prospect Graeme Clarke of the Ottawa 67’s in the Ontario Hockey League, has been invited to Canada’s Summer Development Camp, which will go from July 27-31 and features 41 invitees. Clarke, a forward, will be competing for a spot on Team Canada.

Obviously, these are not final and cuts will be made, but the Devils should see some of their prospects possibly make a difference for teams like Canada and the USA, for whom medaling at this tournament is expected each year.
