Amanda Stein is reporting on the “Inside the Devils Blog” that “two Devils prospects” (Patrick Moynihan and Case McCarthy) have been “named to [the] preliminary list” of players that could comprise the 2021 United States World Junior team. They are two of 39 players remaining to make Team USA.

Stein reports that Moynihan, a center, played last season as a freshman at Providence College (Hockey East) scoring “21 points in 34 games, including 13 goals.”

McCarthy, a defenseman for Boston University (Hockey East), also just completed his freshman campaign and had “12 points in 32 games.”

Stein wrote that the US National Junior Team evaluation camp will take place from October 8 to 13 in Plymouth, Michigan at the USA Hockey Arena. She further said that the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship will begin on Christmas Day, 2020 and run to January 5 of 2021. The tournament is scheduled to be held in Edmonton and Red Deer, Alberta.
