Devils COVID News

The Devils announced today via their official website that Tuesday’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins in Pittsburgh has been postponed. The NHL cited “COVID-related issues affecting the New Jersey Devils” for postponing the game.

Since the game in Newark against the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday has also been postponed, the Devils will not play in the week leading up to the Christmas break.

Their next game is scheduled for December 27 at the St. Louis Blues.

The makeup dates for the game in Pittsburgh and the Montreal game have not been announced yet.

We will keep you updated on any other Devils games that may be affected in the future, as well as new dates for the postponed games.

In other news, the Devils are also reporting that Nico Hischier, Ryan Graves and Jesper Boqvist, who are in COVID Protocol, skated in an optional practice with the team in Newark today.

Sam Kasan reported via Twitter that as well as that Chase DeLeo, Akira Schmid and Jon Gillies were on the ice today. It was also mentioned in the news article on players returning that “[a]bout 10 minutes into the skate, Mackenzie Blackwood (neck injury) took the ice.”

We will see you here on the blog on December 26 for the start of the 2022 World Junior Championship taking place in Red Deer and Edmonton, Alberta. In the meantime, have a Merry Christmas everyone!
