Devils Announce They Will Compete in Prospects Challenge

The Devils’ website put out a press release today stating that the team will again participate in the Prospects Challenge. The Prospects Challenge, a mini tournament featuring four National Hockey League team’s best rookies, will take place at Buffalo’s HarborCenter from September 8 to 11.

The three other participating teams are the host Buffalo Sabres, the Boston Bruins and the defending Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins

The Devils’ prospects will play Buffalo at 7 PM on Friday, September 8; Pittsburgh on Saturday, September 9 at 3:30 PM and Boston at 12 PM on Monday, September 11.

The event will take place entirely at the HarborCenter – where the NHL Draft Combine takes place each year. It is adjacent to KeyBank Center (home of the Sabres) and will be open to the public. Tickets are $10 and go on sale on August 7 at 10 AM. There are three ways to purchase tickets if you are interested: at the KeyBank Center box office, by calling 1-888-223-6000 or at the Buffalo Sabres website, Sabres.com.

If you can make it, this is a good opportunity to see some of the best young Devils (including, presumably, Nico Hischier) in action. It should be a weekend of some good hockey.
