Devils Do Some Early Training Camp Housekeeping

The Devils today put out a press release announcing players that have been assigned back to their junior teams or to the AHL.

Forward Mitch Hoelscher, 2018’s sixth round choice, was sent back to the Ottawa 67’s of the Ontario Hockey League and their 2018 fourth round pick, defenseman Xavier Bernard was sent back to the Drummondville Voltigeurs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Defenseman Tariq Hammond, whom the Devils signed out of the University of Denver this past April, has been assigned to the Binghamton Devils. Forward Ryan Schmelzer, also signed in April from Canisius College was also sent to Binghamton.

Goaltender Colton Phinney was released from his professional tryout (PTO).
