Devils Re-Sign RFA Greer

According to a tweet by PuckPedia (retweeted by Devils Insiders), the Devils have re-signed left winger AJ Greer to a contract.

The contract is a two-way deal worth $750,000 at the NHL level and $130,000 in the American Hockey League.

The contract comes with a $750,000 cap hit (which I think the Devils can afford – with over $22 million in cap space still left on the books).

Greer was acquired by the Devils this past April 7 from the New York Islanders in the Kyle Palmieri and Travis Zajac deal. Greer played in one NHL game this past season after being recalled from AHL Binghamton on May 3. He spent the majority of his time last year with the Bridgeport SoundTIgers and the Binghamton Devils of the AHL.

He was chosen in the second round (39th overall) by the Colorado Avalanche in 2015. He has 38 NHL games under his belt (37 with Colorado and one with New Jersey), posting a goal and five assists for six points.
