In a follow-up to yesterday’s post about Devils’ prospects playing for their respective countries at the 2021 World Junior Championship, Alexander Holtz was named a member of the Swedish team on Saturday, December 12.
According to Amanda Stein on the ‘Inside the Devils Blog’ on the team app, Holtz will be playing in his second straight World Junior tournament, having won bronze with Sweden in 2020.
Stein notes that “with the addition of Holtz to the tournament all three New Jersey Devils first-round picks from the 2020 draft will be playing in the holiday-time tournament.”
The 2021 World Junior Championship starts on December 26 from Red Deer and Edmonton, Alberta. Stein says that the Swedes will kickoff their tournament on that day against fellow Devils prospect Jaromir Pytlik and the Czech Republic.
