MSG Network Announces Devils TV Schedule

MSG Network today announced the Devils’ 2018-19 television schedule. They will handle 80 games this coming season for the Devils, beginning on Saturday, October 6 when the Devils travel to Gothenburg, Sweden to take on the Oilers at the Scandinavium.

They will also televise the upcoming preseason game against the Rangers at 7 PM on Monday. They will televise three other preseason games as well – likely the September 20th game at the Islanders and the September 24th game at the Rangers. That leaves just the split-squad game against Montreal on Monday, the September 27 game at the Jets and the preseason game on October 1st in Switzerland against SC Bern that will not be on TV in the NYC area.

The Devils will play most of their games on MSG+ with the exception of two games in March when they will appear on NBCSN. The Wednesday, March 13, 2019 game at Edmonton will be broadcast on NBCSN as part of the new “Wednesday Night Hockey” series that is replacing “Wednesday Night Rivalry.” Less than a week later, the Devils will make their second and final appearance on NBCSN when the Washington Capitals come to town on Tuesday, March 19, 2019.

With the exception of those two nationally televised games, the Devils will appear night-in and night-out on MSG, MSG2, MSG+ or MSG+2. They will also be available on the MSG Go app if you have that.

MSG also announced that RWJBarnabas Health will be the presenting sponsor of all Devils games and the 30-minute pregame show will remain the “Holy Name Medical Center Devils Game Night.” The postgame show will be the “Mercedes-Benz Devils Postgame Show.”

In addition, MSG announced a new Devils studio host replacing the departing Deb Placey. Erika Wachter, a New Jersey native, will take over as the new host for Devils games on MSG. She had previously worked for FOX 5 New York as a sports reporter and host the past two years. Prior to FOX 5, she was an on-air personality for NESN in Boston and CPTV in Connecticut – “where she covered Huskies football, men’s hockey and men/women’s basketball” for UCONN.

Wachter is originally from Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey and a graduate of Syracuse University – where she played on the varsity field hockey team.

Wachter will join the Devils broadcast team of play-by-play man Steve Cangialosi, color commentator Ken Daneyko and ice-level reporter Bryce Salvador. Cangialosi is in his eighth year of calling Devils hockey while Daneyko is in his fifth as an in-game analyst and Salvador starts his second.

In addition to TV, Devils games will once again be available to stream on devices on The One Jersey Network. Glenn “Chico” Resch will serve as color analyst along with play-by-play man Matt Loughlin.
