Roster Annouced for Devils Development Camp

Today, writing on the Devils’ official website, Devils staff writer Amanda Stein revealed the 33 players (18 forwards, ten defensemen and four goaltenders) that will make up the Devils 2018 Development Camp.

The forwards are: Max Veronneau, Michael McLeod, Nathan Bastian, Blake Speers, John Quenneville, Joey Anderson, Brett Seney, Brandon Gignac, Jesper Boqvist, 2018 draft picks Yegor Sharangovich, Eetu Pakkila and Mitchell Hoelscher, Fabian Zetterlund, Marian Studenic, John Edwardh, Aarne Talvite, Max Andreev and Ryan Schmelzer.

The d-men include Michael Kim, 2018 first round pick Ty Smith, Reilly Walsh, 2018 draft pick Xavier Bernard, Tariq Hammond, Colton White, Jeremy Groleau, Colby Sissons, Bobo Carpenter, Jocktain Chainey and Jeremy Davies.

The goalies are Mackenzie Blackwood, Cam Johnson, 2018 draft pick Akira Schmid and Gilles Senn.

Camp starts on July 10 and continues to July 14 at RWJ-Baranbas Hockey House at the Prudential Center. Stein mentions that the camp will allow players to learn skills both on and off the ice that will allow them to succeed in the NHL should they make it.

Some interesting facts that Stein gives in her article that accompanied the roster reveal is that Andreev is the nephew of former Devil and current Binghamton Devils coach Sergei Brylin. He will be playing at Cornell University in the fall. Boston University player Carpenter is the son of former Devils player and coach Bobby Carpenter. Also, Veronneau is currently a player at Princeton University.
