Devils Youngsters to Skate in Buffalo’s Prospect Challenge

An interesting newsbit came through the Devils website today. For the second year in a row, the team will participate in the Prospect Challenge. The Prospect Challenge will be held September 16 to 19 at the HarborCenter in Buffalo and includes a round robin tournament between future Devils, Boston Bruins and Buffalo Sabres.

The Devils website says that each team will play two games during the event with practices thrown in for the team not playing that day and morning skates for the two teams that will play on each day.

Tickets are $10 per game and go on sale tomorrow (August 3) at 10 AM. If you happen to be interested, they can be purchased by phone at 1-888-223-6000 or at Sabres.com. The Devils play games on Saturday, September 17 and Sunday, September 18.

This is a good experience for the Devils prospects and for any fans that can make it up there for that weekend. A lot of teams participate in tournaments like this regionally and it is nice to give the young players a slight taste of life in the NHL early on in their budding careers.
