NHL Postpones Several Events

In response to the continuing global health crisis, the National Hockey League took steps today to postpone some of the big events held during the spring and summer months.

The to-be-rescheduled events include the 2020 NHL Scouting Combine (to be held in Buffalo on June 1-6, 2020), the 2020 NHL Awards (held in Las Vegas in June 18) and the 2020 NHL Draft (previously to be held in Montreal on June 26-27, 2020).

The league said in a statement from NHL Public Relations that “the location, timing and format of the 2020 NHL Draft (and Draft Lottery) will be announced when details are finalized.”

There was no word on when the Combine will take place, but obviously, that needs to happen prior to a rescheduled Draft.

The NHL Awards will likely happen in Las Vegas still once the NHL is given the go ahead. Las Vegas has been home to the NHL Awards show since 2009 according to the press release and will likely be scheduled there at a later date once/if the season does eventually get concluded.
