Andrew Gross will be the Devils newest beat writer, reporting on the team for The Record. He replaces Tom Gulitti, who departed this past April to take a job with NHL.com.
Gross had been covering both the Rangers and the Devils since April and was the author of the “Ranger Rants” blog as well as The Record’s Ranger beat writer until moving to the Devils.
Gulitti had been the author of the popular “Fire and Ice” blog over at NorthJersey.com and Gross had taken over duties there following Gulitti’s departure.
Now, Gross will simply move over to covering the Devils full time, leaving Rick Carpiniello to cover the Rangers for The Record and NorthJersey.com.
The Devils had really been without a full-time beat writer since Gulitti left, so getting someone of his caliber to cover the team is a good move. If anything, he handled covering both the Rangers and the Devils for the spring and summer (a precarious position to be in for sure) with grace and skill. That is to be commended and I am sure that all Devils fans look forward to seeing the job he does as a full-time reporter for the team. He is a knowledgeable hockey writer and should be a good fit for the team. Good luck to him!
