Kevin Morley Named New Devils Head Athletic Trainer

The Devils’ website put out a press release today in which they announced that the team’s new Head Athletic Trainer for 2016-17 will be Kevin Morley, MS, ATC, LAT.

Morley, who holds a Master’s Degree in Exercise and Sport Sciences from the University of Florida (’01) and a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Health Sciences from James Madison University (’99), has been with the New Jersey Devils training staff for three seasons and has been in the organization for nine.

He started with the club in the American Hockey League with the Lowell Devils and, later, the Albany Devils. He was Head Athletic Trainer for six seasons with the AHL franchise where he oversaw “care, budgeting and administration.” He then moved up to the NHL Devils where he was Assistant Athletic Trainer for the last three seasons. Here he assisted “the Head Athletic Trainer and team physicians with daily management, evaluation and care of the players.”

Morley has a varied resume, as he has worked for the Miami (Ohio) University hockey, baseball, cheerleading, tennis and synchronized skating teams for the six seasons prior to joining the Devils. He also worked events for USA Hockey, the Red Bull Cliff Diving and Flugtag Competitions and ESPN’s Winter and Summer X Games.

The Livingston, New Jersey resident was a member of the swimming and diving teams while at James Madison University and is a certified athletic trainer and a member of the Board of Certification’s Exam Development Committee according to the press release.
