Devils Sign Colby Sissons to Entry Level Deal

Devils General Manager Ray Shero announced today that the team has signed 18-year-old defenseman Colby Sissons to a three-year, entry-level deal.

Sissons, who the Devils’ press release identifies as a 6-foot, 2-inch, 190-pound left-handed d-man, played his first full junior season with the Swift Current Broncos of the Western Hockey League last year. He scored three goals and added 19 assists for a total of 22 points to go with 26 penalty minutes. He played in 71 games for the Broncos. According to the press release, Sissons actually made his WHL debut on December 12, 2014, playing in two games for Swift Current during the 2014-15 season.

The press release mentions that he had a season and career high 1 goal, 2 assists for 3 points on March 18 in a game versus the Regina Pats.

The press release also states that Sissons attended training camp as an amateur tryout, with the Edmonton native playing in one NHL preseason game. He most recently skated in the Prospects Challenge in Buffalo for the Devils.
