Devils Loan Zetterlund to AIK

In an article on the Devils’ app on Saturday, Catherine Bogart said that the club has loaned forward prospect Fabian Zetterlund to AIK of Hockey Allvenskan, the Swedish league.

Bogart said that Zetterlund had previously loaned to HC Vita Hsten of the same league, but that loan was terminated.

Zetterlund played last season for the Binghamton Devils of the American Hockey League. Bogart mentioned that it was his first season in North America after being drafted by New Jersey 63rd overall in the third round of the 2017 NHL Draft.

Bogart wrote that Zetterlund had 19 points (eight goals, 11 assists) over 46 games in the AHL last year.

Bogart said that he had signed a “three-year, entry level contract with New Jersey” in May 2019.

Devils Loan Boqvist to Swedish Club

The Devils have once again loaned one of their prospects to a European team in an effort to keep them sharp.

Marc Ciampa reported yesterday on the “Inside the Devils Blog” that Jesper Boqvist will be headed to Timra IK of HockeyAllsvenskan in his native Sweden.

Ciampa notes that Boqvist spent last season playing 38 games with New Jersey at the NHL level and 19 games in Binghamton of the AHL. In the NHL, he notched four goals while in the American League, he had eight goals, three assists for 11 total points.

Ciampa said that Boqvist “will be available to play with Timra IK in Sweden right away.” Since the Swedish league has gotten underway already, Timra actually played on Friday, losing to IF Bjorkloven, 4-1.

As per these cases, Boqvist will be able to return Stateside in November when 2020-21 NHL training camps start.
