GoFundMe for Rick Zanni: “Helping Rick Get Back Into the Race”

Happy Veterans Day to all, and especially to those who served and made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.

As you know if you read my post from the other day, my Uncle – Rick Zanni – went out for a run last Sunday and collapsed due to a heart attack.

He was found by a bicyclist who immediately called the police. First responders and the police arrived, revived him and got him to Newton Medical Center in Sussex County, New Jersey.

Things are looking pretty promising, although he has not been without setbacks. As I mentioned, there might be damage to his brain depending on how long he was unconscious for.

My sister, Elyse Zanni, works as a respiratory therapist at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey. My father, Dr. Robert Zanni, is a pediatric pulmonologist in the RWJBarnabas system. They are working on getting my Uncle transported to St. Barnabas so that they can keep a better eye on him as he tries to recover.

Unfortunately, my Uncle’s insurance does not cover the move. To this end, my sister has created a GoFundMe page to help raise funds so that he can be transported plus any other medical bills that he and my Aunt will be facing following all of this.

She is trying to raise $1,000. Several generous people have already stepped forward and we are more than halfway to the goal just hours after the campaign was created!

If you can and would like to spare a few dollars for this cause, please visit https://gofundme.com/f/help-rick-and-irene-with-medical-expenses/donate. Any amount would help and we would all be so grateful.

Thank you in advance for your generosity.
